Code Orange

At 8:39am, while I was driving to work this morning I received a text message from Alert DC that read:

The threat level on all domestic flights has risen to code orange in the United States, due to arrest made in th

In the what? I never received the rest of the message. A few minutes later I notice cars in front of me making U-turns in the middle of Michigan Ave. I continued as far as I could to see what was going on, Michigan Ave. is completely blocked of by police cars at Quincy Ave in NE. I couldn’t tell what had happened but there didn’t seem to be much commotion so I assume it was mostly over, although I did count 3 MPD cars, 2 ambulances and 2 large fire trucks. Totally unrelated to the domestic threat level, I’m sure, but it was unnerving to receive that message and only a few minutes later be confronted by flashing red/blue lights.

Hey, you could live in Gustine, CA where without notice, someone might tip over your cows! Why, just two weeks ago, the Borba’s lost five cows due to the 113 degree temperatures!

    Now that’s excitement…

Ha!! like the cow tipping thing, pretty funny, never tried it though . . .
I spent a long time trying to find something like that alert thing for CA the other day. I searched & searched different CA government sites but still couldn’t find anything . . . guess for once CA is behind the times!
