Wikipedia edited by congressional staffers

It looks as though congressional staffers have been busy at Wikipeida.org. According to an article that appeared in the Lowell Sun they have been inserting insults into rival Congressmens’ bios and removing anything negative from their bosses’ – amounting to 1,000 changes in the past six months.

Not a good use of taxpayer’s money.

How to Eat Sushi

This is a silly documentary about Japanese culture and sushi.

For something more serious try Eugene Ciurana’s Sushi Eating HOWTO.

Google’s response about censoring Chinese site

Google recently launched google.cn a Google search site for China. In doing so they complied to the demands of the Chinese government to censor certain search results. Many have criticised them for doing this so Andrew McLaughlin, a senior policy counsel for Google has responded on their blog with their reasons for doing so. It makes sense to me.

DC Olympic Team to Torino?

This is awesome. It is fairly common knowledge that residents of the District of Columbia have only one non-voting senator and no representation in congress. Hence the “No taxation without representation” motto you will find on DC licence plates.

What you may not know is that three other U.S. territories have the same amount of say in federal government as DC residents do: Guam, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands – AND those three territories have their own delegations to represent them in the Olympics!

The recently formed District of Columbia Olympic Committee is bringing attention to all of this by trying to get into the 2006 Winter Olympics. They have put together a team compete in only one sport so far… curling!

This is awesome. If actually lived in DC (instead of one mile outside) I would totally hook up with these guys and gals.

Card Defends the Campaign in Iraq

Orson Scott Card writes a plain, common sense defense of the United State’s continued involvement in Iraq. He covers all the points, and makes so much sense that I have to wonder about why my own support had been wavering. This write up is fabulous. I would share some snippets here, but it’s all so good I don’t know what to snip! Instead, go read the article for yourself. And if you have any serious disagreements, I’d be very curious to hear about them.
